I don't know if I had this planned when I started the 3D-printed Sentinel plot, but we're managing to finally work Bastion in here! About a year after getting him. I just got Galactus on Saturday, but I wasn't sold on
Ghost Rider even with Mephisto and Goblin Queen--Madelyne Pryor would've been the selling point, really.
Drunk Kurt is fun Kurt for me. SOOOO much story potential there to mine with Kurt just being fucking GONE whilst delivering hilarious personal commentary on various issues & topics.
ReplyDeleteMost definitely don't expect the debate on 3D printed Sentinels to ever be fully solved or closed up anytime soon since it obviously parallels with the current gun control issues here in the US. Yes, I would expect a natural escalation in the building of said homebrewed sentinels, especially when egged on by the racist/biased echo chambers that are social media fueling the demand & escalation of production. The hate will flow & so will the homebrewed sentinels until legal regulation is brought up & issued to curve it. Even then, that's no guaranteed that'll be a quick fix as it is now with guns.
Bastion huh? and who's his lady friend?
Oh and nice look or you might miss him cameo by Darkhawk, who's casually DJ'ing away, spinning some sick intergalactic techno-funk music that would make most Germans cream themselves with envy for not having created it themselves, whilst said dilema & philosophical debate goes on.
Ok, so you have them together- now what? You gonna plea bargain or something? This really is a convoluted plan, and I don't see it getting clearer any time soon.
ReplyDeleteFor the record, I figure most of the mutants could handle those home-brewed Sentinels. They'd probably fall apart in a stiff breeze.
I'm glad you told us it was Bastion, because I was drawing a complete blank (I think I missed Operation Zero Tolerance entirely back in the day.)
ReplyDeleteAlso, considering Bastion's the one who killed Kurt back during, whatever that X-Men event was (not Messiah CompleX, but something close, when Hope returned to the present as a gun-toting radical teen), Bastion might not want to mess with Drunk Nightcrawler.
@CalvinPitt: It had to be during Messiah Complex that Kurt died.
ReplyDeleteAnd no, no he shouldn't. EVER.
It'll be fun to watch Bastion try to start something, though! Will Kurt teleport a 3-d printed Sentinel head inside Bastion's chest before She-Hulk rips him apart or Satana sends him to Robot Hell?
ReplyDeleteI was thinking Messiah CompleX was the one where Cable initially rescues Hope as a baby (with Deadpool's help) and ultimately takes her into the future, with Bishop chasing them to try and kill Hope (because she's responsible for his time being crappy.)
OK, I went and looked it up, I was thinking of "Second Coming".
