It's entirely possible that everything Blur says is just a high-pitched whine, allruntogetherlikethis; and the Squadron can maybe understand him like 30% of the time. Still, he wasn't the brains of the operation; so most of them probably weren't super interested in anything he had to say. Also, there's apparently a band called "Zip Tang," I thought that was trademarked by the Road Runner! And "Gotta go, big meeting" is from
Some Assembly Required, a moderately amusing Netflix kids' show my Youngest liked, set in a toy factory.
Also, today we continue with the notion that the Squadron had certain utility positions they were interested in filling; which of course line up with classic Justice Leaguers. I'm considering now if there's a Marvel character that would be close to Firestorm, as that would kind of be the cut-off...But, we've got the most recent Ant-Man and Namor figures: the Namor seems a bit unnecessary, as I feel like I just got his movie figure.
Frankly, I’m a little surprised they haven’t tried to get Reed in there- Elongated Man was part of the Justice League for a while (longer than Zatanna at least). Not sure if there’s anyone close to Firestorm in powers at Marvel- I know the personality and general story beats were supposed to be like Spider-Man but that’s not exactly what they’re looking for.
ReplyDeleteYeah kinda weird/funny how Reed’s the only stretchy person in the MU if you don’t include the Super-Skrull, whereas DC’s full of them.
DeleteJesus Goo! Thanks for the eye strain and near headache I got from reading Blur’s lines. At least it was accurate.
ReplyDeleteI’m pretty sure he means well, he’s just bad at helping, like his brain doesn’t run as fast as his legs do.
That’s definitely a weird-looking Namor figure. Where’s he from comic appearance-wise? He looks similar to how he looked in the mid-90’s when he was drawn by Jae Lee. This version wouldn’t look out of place in Dragonball Z or some similar style/world.
So Nuke was Firestorm’s Marvel Squadron analogue, but for you, if you own the Molecule Man, that’d work just as good.
If Blur were based on Quicksilver, I'd assume he was just being a jerk, but he's probably just trying to help in his own, annoying way.
ReplyDeleteAs far as stretchy types at Marvel, there's Flatman w/the GLA and Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan). I feel like there must be a bunch of mutants with stretching powers, but I can't think of them (besides Flatman.)
But Mr. Fantastic also is a much bigger player in the MU than Plastic Man, Elongated Man, or any of the other DC stretchy folk are in their universe, and Reed's part of Marvel's "First Family," so to speak. Maybe he's kind of staked out that corner as his?
