Of course, being a doctor, Morbius knows better than to move around somebody with serious injuries like that. (I don't know if it's MST3K that usually shouts out "Be sure to wiggle his spine around" when that's done in movies, but I certainly do.) But for this, gotta get that dramatic Pieta pose going!
