Time for the camaraderie and fellowship the Justice Society is renowned for!
...maybe not. Well, maybe the elder statesman of the team, Green Lantern, could show the team some spirit...
...oh, damnit. Well, we saw the next issue already, but today we have All-Star Comics #68, "Divided We Stand!" Story by Paul Levitz, art by Joe Staton and Bob Layton. This issue, Dr. Fate returns! A newly bankrupt Green Lantern wrecks up Gotham Airport and demands a million dollars! Hmm, not accounting for Earth-2 conversion rates, a million in 1977 is only a smidge over four million today; so GL's not really putting the screws to 'em with that ransom.
Commissioner Bruce Wayne has called in Hourman and Robin to deal with the JSA, but they have their hands full with the Psycho-Pirate! With GL under his power, PP next takes over the Flash with his emotion-manipulating powers, now boosted by Green Lantern's power. While the rest of the team falls quickly, when Psycho-Pirate tries to turn Wildcat yellow with fear, he gets punched the hell out when Wildcat just closes his eyes and comes out swinging!
Besides the next issue, today's book also ties into another one, that we'll see later.
Oh, the Justice Society. God, I love those old Farts. And Wildcat is awesome.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, So when they start to get on their "Back in my day we didn't waste vaulable time pickering like children" rant to thse newer teams, we shouldn't bring this issue up huh?;)
