"Super-Monitor Duty."

Ah...children are the future.
Future of my mothersmurfing ulcer...
I've been enjoying the new Young Justice cartoon, and one interesting bit in that series has been how Superman is completely uncomfortable with the idea of being a mentor or father figure to his clone, Superboy. Admittedly, his discomfort is not entirely unreasonable; but I think the Superman of the comics wouldn't have been taken aback for more than a moment, before warmly accepting Superboy.

Of course, the downside to Superman's characterization there is that between Young Justice and Superman Returns, Supes really seems like a deadbeat dad...

You got a point there. Hell in the comics he adopted Zod and Ursa's son Chris, and did't seem to have that hard of a time being a dad.

And while I enjoyed the last Superman movie, I could've skipped the super-kid sup-plot that helped kill any hope of a sequel. Now of course they're starting from scratch, so here's hoping it doesn't suck.
