Hey, Kurt has seen Mandroids before!

I've considered setting up different tags for proper Nightcrawler and Deadpool comic appearances, and the nonsense strips I do around here; but haven't gotten around to even starting that notion. But every once in a while, we reference actual, bona fide continuity; like Wednesday's strip touching upon today's book! From 1988's Classic X-Men #24, reprinting 1979's X-Men #118, "The Submergence of Japan!" Plot and script by Chris Claremont, plot and pencils by John Byrne, inks by Ric Villamonte.

This month, the X-Men's world tour makes its way from the Savage Land to Japan, which is about to be sunk by Moses Magnum. How the arms dealer is doing that is a mystery, but he also has Mandroid troops that he sends to collect hostages.

Different tags eh? Damn man, pretty ambitious depending on just how diverse you plan on being.
Apocalypse saved and updated/powered up Magnum, but he still lost anyways. I think Apocy already knew that, and was using Magnum as a distraction for the X-men. I think.
Speaking of, thanks to buying that Black Widow figure, I have the whole upper half of my Mandroid BAF completed. Just need the legs now.
