"Outreach."

I would have to look it up, but was M.A.C.H. 1 still M.A.C.H. 1? And I'm not typing the dots anymore; but I thought he upgraded a few times. I also thought the former Beetle had dated Songbird for a bit, but not an especially long time in the book? Like, shorter than that sort of thing usually runs, but it ended without them hating each other or anything.

I also think I'm going to keep harping on this, but the articulation for that Howard the Duck figure...man, it could be better.

He definitely could be more articulated & so could’ve Spider-Ham. Hasbro really served out a huge full-priced disappointment on that one.

They did briefly date but I couldn’t tell you why it didn’t last without doing some digging.
As for his M.A.C.H. identity, he’s currently up to M.A.C.H. 10 ever since 2016. Guess he’s comfortable staying that speed for now.

Ahh the Fly. This should be fun.
I’d definitely wouldn’t mind owning his action figure but I’m don’t want to have buy that entire 5-pack. Maybe Mercari has a loose one.

Well, I definitely didn't see that coming.

MACH-Whatver and Songbird were dating up to the point where Mach and a bunch of the other T'Bolts got sucked over to Counter-Earth in the Nicieza/Zircher run, but it seemed to just get dropped after that. Songbird seems really tied to the Thunderbolts - I don't think she's ever gotten to be an Avenger like Avengers Forever foretold, not even when Jonathan Hickman made the roster like 100 characters - and MACH just kinda slid into the background. Guess nobody needs another dude in powered armor.

Could they have done more for that Fly figure...maybe not? Still, that set was a smidge underwhelming; I haven't sprung for the one with Stryfe (again!) or the WCA yet. Maybe if I luck into a deal, sure, but...

Songbird and MACH-1 kinda fall into the trap of being the 'good' ones, so they don't necessarily move the plot forward as much? Zemo, Moonstone, even Fixer could do anything selfish and/or awful at any time; while Atlas...wasn't he a bit of a meathead?

Googum: That's a good point. I can't remember too many plotlines that really put Songbird or Mach-1 front and center, probably for the reason you said. They're usually the ones just trying not to get manipulated by Zemo or Moonstone.

Atlas tended to be a follower, at least in the T'Bolts I've read. I know after they got outed as villains and were on the run, sans Zemo but before Hawkeye shows up, someone suggested Atlas should take over as team leader and he was basically like, "I was a soldier, but I was a grunt, not a commander."

It is kinda odd (or maybe not) that Songbird never got to achieve that elusive Avengers membership status she seemed destined to get during the early to mid 2000’s. I guess it’ll remain a destiny denied for now until she’s ever rediscovered/ resurfaces on a popular writer’s radar & decided to go to bat for her. You never know really when it comes to comics, but I personally feel that times come & gone already.

Could they have done more with him? Maybe but that’s how it seems to go these days when dealing with Hasbro. The Fly really doesn’t lend himself to having accessories like other characters do, so him coming out sans extras is pretty much what you’d expect to get from a figure for him. It’s not like Hasbro was ever going to throw in Marc’s broken back as an accessory, as cool as that would’ve been.
I have found him solo & going for pretty cheap on Mercari. I might get drunk one night & buy him from there, lol.

Exactly! Reformed characters like Melissa & Abe were the straight men the true bad guy typed played of off & so easily manipulated. There’s a reason why in various forms of storytelling, from comics & video games to pro-wrestling, that the bad guys are just inherently more interesting.

So, that's the Human Fly right? Didn't know he was still around, doing stuff. Seems like it'd be an easy win for Moon Knight but you never know- wild cards are exactly that, unpredictable. I feel like we're heading for some sort of non-sequitur ending to this or maybe Moonstone just gets bored and leaves.

@H: I'm guessing you don't know that that the Fly infamously broke Marc's back before due to the vibrations from his wings. THAT'S why David Cronenberg's favorite villain got recruited to fight Marc.

Previously, his powers pretty much lined up with Spidey's, but after the Cronenberg/Goldblum movie, the Fly picked up extras like garbage eating and acid barf! I'm sure he appreciated that; I'm pretty sure he didn't have them before then.

So he's Bane crossed with Baxter Stockman? I'm guessing this all happened in the 90's- it's way too fitting for Marvel to rip off TMNT, Knightfall, and (presumably) Underworld Unleashed all at once and within a few years of their height.
