And, since I found it while prepping this, John Linnell of They Might Be Giants, covering the Dead Kennedys "California Uber Alles" since I was not expecting that.
I had some friends in college that covered it; although I probably heard the Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy version more than the original.

Poor Kurt. This is going to get pretty damn nasty isn't t?
Also, it HAS to be Kurt to use that line for painfully obvious reasons. Which makes me think, did Magneto secretly harbor a prejudicial bit of hate for him due to where Kurt came from? I know Erik's technically German as well, or not depending on who writes his origins, but I imagine after what he went through, that country's dead to him & readily hated on.
Cool covers.
I definitely like the Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy version as well. They remind me of Public Enemy & Rage Against The Machine.
See now I really enjoy learning about new songs or artists I've never heard before that I'll actually like, so that's always a nice plus of your blog is exposure to such content like that. Keep it up.
I imagine Krakoa uber alles would draw attention some unpleasant - but accurate - comparisons the majority of the X-writers would rather ignore.
I think Magneto's a lot like Tony Stark. He can justify any action he decides to take as the right one, even if it contradicts things he did in the past.
And honestly, Magneto's lucky it was Kurt. Satanna probably would have flayed his soul open, without letting him die, so he'd suffer longer.
@CalvinPitt:
I'll go with the Stark comparison on that context yeah.
Which begs a solid question for me anyways, would Ghost Rider's penance stare work on Magneto? Maybe a little in the cases of the accidental deaths he might've felt bad for. But then again, if felt it was justified then he wouldn't if we're going by that, right?
Satana would've damn sure sent him to hell. Not sure how that would've stuck if he can keep getting cloned/brought back to life, unless Satana's banishing of him to hell puts a kink in that process.
Re: the Penance Stare, I've wondered the same thing about Doom. I guess it depends on how it works. Does it just make the person feel guilt for all the sins they committed, or do they experience all the pain (physical, mental, emotional) they've inflicted on others?
My guess it, it would work on Mags and Stark either way. I think they're both capable of guilt, but they're also the types who think, "well, I feel bad about having to do this, isn't that enough?"
