creepy as hell wearing the hood, far more so than the Hood!
We also got the High Evolutionary figure the morning I was making this strip, but Satana may have jumped the gun. I absolutely have something in mind for him--two somethings, actually: he was going to visit his former pupils with some tips and possibly critique, after I figure out his voice. HE was from, what, the 1920's or something? He and Mr. Sinister had been around for a long time, but Sinister wants to sound like Oscar Wilde (who's now come up twice in this post, if you recognize the play mentioned above!) while HE sounds...maybe like the slightly doddering professor type in a Hammer/Amicus film. Not unlike other Marvel geniuses like Reed Richards, I think the High Evolutionary was often distracted by new insights or ideas, which led him to neglect things like his beast-men.
I wasn't even sure a PhD was offered in accounting, but you shouldn't need one to know NFT's are garbage. I kind of hate most kinds of investing, though; since investors no longer seem satisfied with reasonable, long-term payouts and instead want the home run every time. There are a million better things to invest in than Bitcoin, crypto, or NFT's, but that don't have the same (million-to-none) chance of a massive quick buck, or the shock of the new. Also, some investors seem like gambling addicts, like they've run out of traditional things to bet on and have progressed past late night ping-pong games on ESPN 8 to completely made-up fictional bets. That's just my opinion, though; and I assure you I don't have enough money to listen to...
OK, and the play we mentioned,
the Importance of Being Earnest was written by Oscar Wilde, but it was also the play Mary Jane was in, in
Spider-Man 2! If you haven't seen it, eh, that's all right, I don't think Peter has either...

Arcade as a bar owner just makes sense to me. Just based off his look from that particular figure, he'd be one of those older guys trying to seem hip & cool for the kids so he'd be up on all the current slang & social media challenges & trends, where it goes 50/50 that he still comes off as too old for the kiddies or fits in enough to pass off as one of them. Still creepy, and most definitely not in a good way. Must be the suit & bow tie since they just scream evil amusement park owner.
Good point about the current trend for younger investors. Crypto/bitcoin is finally becoming mainstream mainstream despite being out for almost a decade that I know off. Had friends that were heavy into it before it was even a thing. I think they mostly abandoned it long before it became mainstream Gamestop stocks became a thing briefly, and now NFT's. I know what they are and yet I still don't get why they're supposedly worth investing in. Wouldn't it be that much easier to just give your money away at that point?
Nobody does- they're collectable and that's enough for some people. About the least useful collectable ever, but some people think 'one of a kind' means valuable no matter what.
There's probably people who would pay good money for a turn in a Murderworld. I mean, it's the next step up from escape rooms and people were into those for some reason. Arcade could have a real franchise on his hands.
Jesus...you guys are so right on that. People really would pay some nice Murderworld action wouldn't they? Fuck, Arcade wouldn't even have to villain anymore, just go legit and rake in the cash & retire, occasionally randomly attacking a superhero or the X-Men when he got too bored & felt he was losing his edge.
I figured that was why you brought Arcade in as the owner- get them into a Murderworld, maybe meet up with some paying customers (apologies if that was legitimately what you were going to do and I just spoiled the whole storyline).
Not at all: no spoilers, but Arcade wasn't going to stick around long.
I had the notion of Arcade having an arcade, but didn't get anywhere with it.
